Background on Diptyque Perfumes

Diptyque is a luxury fragrance brand established in Paris in 1961 by three friends: Christiane Gautrot, Desmond Knox-Leet, and Yves Coueslant. Their original store was initially an eclectic display of antiques and unusual objects, but they soon began creating and selling high-end fragrances. In 1963, Diptyque introduced its first fragrances, marking the beginning of its journey as a perfumery. The brand’s fragrances were inspired by their travels and personal experiences, resulting in a collection that was diverse and unconventional.

Diptyque’s unique and sophisticated fragrances have become iconic, with an impressive portfolio of scents that cater to both men and women. The brand has expanded beyond fragrances, offering luxury candles, room sprays, and skincare products. While Diptyque has grown significantly since its inception, their unique fragrances and commitment to quality continue to be the foundation of their success.

Diptyque gained recognition for its distinctive approach to fragrance creation, combining unusual notes and a minimalist aesthetic. The brand emphasized quality ingredients and craftsmanship, creating scents that were sophisticated, artistic, and refined.

With its rich heritage and a legacy spanning over six decades, Diptyque remains a coveted brand among fragrance enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike, embodying the essence of French elegance and artistry.

Do Diptyque Perfumes Have Parabens?

It was unclear when reviewing the Diptyque website whether or not their products contained parabens. We did find this charter, but it seemed to be talking only about skin care.

So, we reached out to Diptyque directly and received the following response:

Thank you for contacting diptyque.

We trust European legislation, the strictest in the world, which imposes checks and tests on every cosmetic product before authorizing its sale.

Nevertheless, from the birth of the range, we imposed a demanding formulation charter which refuses authorized ingredients, but subject to questioning: phthalates, parabens, TEA / DEA, silicones, aluminum, mineral oils, synthetic dyes, sulphates.

We regularly update our formulas to replace controversial ingredients.

We sincerely hope this message will give you all the answers you were expecting.

Based on this response, it is clear that Diptyque perfumes do not contain parabens.
