History of Dolce & Gabbana Perfume Brand

The story of Dolce & Gabbana perfumes begins with the iconic duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. After establishing their haute couture empire, the designers ventured into the realm of fragrances, launching their first perfume “Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme” in 1992.

Their fragrances, much like their clothing, are a fusion of bold expressiveness and traditional elegance. Over the years, they have unveiled a plethora of scents that echo their design philosophy and the Dolce & Gabbana lifestyle.

As of 2021, Dolce & Gabbana boasts a dazzling array of over 80 different fragrances. This includes their primary lines, limited editions, and unique variants like eau de toilette, eau de parfum, and more. Their collection captures an extensive palette of emotions, occasions, and personalities, providing a scent for every taste and whim. Dolce & Gabbana perfumes can be bought from a variety of retailers including Sephora and Ulta. Reflecting their status as luxury items, Dolce & Gabbana perfumes fall in a broad price range from around $50 to over $200, depending on factors like the type of fragrance, bottle size, and whether the perfume is part of a limited edition or exclusive collection.

Do Dolce & Gabbana Perfumes have Parabens?

Dolce and Gabbana is not transparent about what ingredient are in their perfumes.

Without a statement from a brand stating that their products are paraben-free, you have to assume they are not paraben-free.

This is the case with Dolce and Gabbana – we have to assume all Dolce and Gabbana perfumes do contain parabens.

Do Dolce & Gabbana Perfumes have Phthalates?

Yes, we have to assume Dolce and Gabbana perfumes contain phthalates (since they are not transparent about the ingredients they use).

Do Dolce & Gabbana Perfumes have PFAS?

Yes, we have to assume Dolce and Gabbana perfumes contain PFAS, since they have not made any claims otherwise.

Change on the Horizon?

We don’t anticipate Dolce and Gabbana making any improvements to the their perfumes and removing parabens/phthalates/etc.

So what can you do? Consumers hold real power to incite change in brands. Your voice and dollar is powerful.

  1. Refrain from buying Dolce and Gabbana perfumes. There are tons of other great perfumes on the market that don’t use concerning ingredients.
  2. Reach out to Dolce and Gabbana and/or parent-company, Shiseido. Write to them. Tweet them. Tell them you want perfumes with transparent ingredients. Tell Dolce & Gabbana you want perfumes without phthalates/parabens/PFAS, etc.

Bottom-Line: We don't recommend Dolce & Gabbana perfumes

We don’t recommend Kayali perfumes. Kayali is not transparent about what ingredients they use in their perfumes. Kayali does not meet the “Clean at Sephora” standards, which prohibits such ingredients. Therefore, we have to assume Kayali perfumes contain  parabens, phthalates and PFAS. These ingredients have concerning health implications (more on that here).

There are tons of perfumes on the market that don’t contain concerning ingredients – and these are the perfumes we use and recommend.

As consumers are becoming aware of the concerning ingredients in perfumes, many consumers are actively searching out better, safer perfumes. This is more than a passing trend. This is where the perfume industry is headed. Here at scentmovement, we’re here to promote this movement – browse around our site if you’re looking for perfume recommendations, reviews or dupes!
