In January of 2023, Target launched an exclusive line of perfumes called “fine’ry”. The line includes 9 perfumes, as well as body mists.
Behind the name: Fine’ry = Fine + Perfumery
Here at scentmovement, we’re very excited about this new line of perfumes and the craze it’s causing on social media (looking at you, Tiktok!). Why?
The new line of fine’ry perfumes carries the “Target Clean” label, meaning these perfumes are formulated without concerning ingredients:
You can learn more about the concerns behind these ingredients here.
P.S. they’re also vegan and cruelty-free! woohoo!
The biggest reason the fine’ry perfumes from Target are going viral is because each one is said to be a dupe for a popular high-end perfume.
And costing less than $30 each, these are much more affordable. The tagline also touches on the affordability, stating: “EVERYONE DESERVES TO FEEL FINE“.
Here’s an excerpt from the product description which talks on the inspiration & accessibility:
We believe fine fragrance is a luxury and a pleasure everyone should have access to. We want to open the world of artisanal fragrances. We want to redefine luxury perfume.
Discover the world of Fine’ry, a brand founded and rooted in the craft of fine perfumery. We take inspiration from the legendary fragrances that have shaped the history of perfume, to craft unique scent experiences, and make them accessible to all.
Wondering what high-end perfumes the fine’ry perfumes are supposed to be dupes for? We’ve got you covered! (Then keep reading below to see if they are good dupes or not!)
Here is the full list of fine’ry perfumes and what they are dupes for:
1. Not Another Cherry by fine’ry = dupe for Lost Cherry by Tom Ford
2. Sweet on the Outside by fine’ry = dupe for Eilish by Billie Eilish
3. Midnight Cafe by fine’ry = dupe for Black Opium by YSL
4. Flower Bed by fine’ry = dupe for Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel
5. Before the Rainbow by fine’ry = dupe for Wood Sage & Sea Salt by Jo Malone
6. Magnetic Candy by fine’ry = dupe for Sundazed by Byredo

8. Sun-phoria by fine’ry = dupe for Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford
9. I’m a Musk by fine’ry = dupe for Cloud by Ariana Grande? Not Another Perfume by Juliette Has a Gun?
Here’s what people are saying about the new fine’ry perfumes from Target. Let’s go one by one:
Fine’ry’s Not Another Cherry is supposed to be a dupe for Tom Ford‘s Lost Cherry.
Fragrance Notes: Wild Cherry, Turkish Rose, Almond Amaretto
Positive Reviews:
One redditor, positivaltitudes, says: “IMO, not Another Cherry is definitely a winner if you want a bargain version of the notes in Lost Cherry. I think it’s a nicely developed fragrance and reasonable dupe. It was sold out, so this must be a popular one.”
Another reddit user gives a glowing review, saying “I absolutely love Not Another Cherry. I always wanted TF Lost Cherry but not for the price tag. $28 for this dupe is so worth it.” (thebearjew666)
Reddit user u/notadogwiththumbs, says, “I am wearing this today and I have to say, as a whole experience I don’t think it’s a 90% dupe anymore, more like 80%. The cherry note is STRONGER in this one than the TF, but the other notes are weaker, so it’s lacking the complexity of the TF that makes it a step above. However I stand by saying it’s longer lasting than the TF. I put it on 4 hours ago and I’m still smelling it strongly while just sitting at my desk.”
Critical Reviews:
A reviewer on Fragrantica says, “immediately disliked this aroma! It reminds me of overwhelming strawberry/cherry air fresheners for the car!”
Overall, reviews are very positive for fine’ry’s Not Another Cherry. The overall consensus is that this is a good dupe for Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry. The fact that this is such a good dupe for a unique, high-end perfume makes Not Another Cherry very popular as well. Target hasn’t been able to keep Not Another Cherry stocked! It’s been consistently selling out since it launched – both in stores and on-line.
Fine’ry’s Sweet on the Outside is supposed to be a dupe for Billie Eilish’s Eilish.
Fragrance Notes: Madagascar Vanilla, Cacao Wood, Smoked Vetiver
Positive Reviews:
One Frangratica reviews says the following about Sweet on the Outside: “I blind bought 6/9 of the collection based on notes that I generally like and I thinnnk this is my favorite of the bunch. I don’t have Eilish, but for me this is a perfect vanilla! I’ve been looking for a standard vanilla like this for a while. The tonka and vetiver add a bit of complexity that keeps it from leaning too sweet or gourmand. I don’t really smell any smoke, BUT there is a slightly toasty element to it.
I bought the EDP and longevity has been surprisingly well, two sprays and I can still smell it ~6 hours later on my sweater. This also has decent sillage, you won’t be smelled before entering a room, but you might leave a nice little trail as you leave.
Highly recommend checking this out if you like vanilla!”
Critical Reviews:
One reddit user says, “I tried the vanilla one and was not impressed, it hardly lasted an hour and had no projection.” (LilGazpacho)
Another redditor, u/notadogwiththumbs, gives it a 1.5 out of 5, and calls this perfume “An ok vanilla”.

Fine’ry’s Midnight Cafe is supposed to be a dupe for YSL Black Opium.
Fragrance Notes: Crème de Café, Jasmine Absolute, Patchouli
Positive Reviews:
One Reddit user says: “the Midnight Cafe is identical to my nose to the point that I was immediately transported to when I wore Black Opium regularly.” (scaffoldingoracle)
Another Reddit user, u/notadogwiththumbs, says, “Well, hey! On the card, this is pretty close, basically like a simplified version of Black Opium. It’s balanced and well-blended. I get the sweet, creamy coffee, subtle white florals, and something a tad earthy to ground it. It’s identical on the skin. Box says “the intoxicating mystery of midnight” lmao, notes are “creme de cafe, jasmine absolute, patchouli.” Ah ok, the patchouli makes a lot of sense, like when it goes slightly chocolatey. Even though it hits the essence of what it’s imitating, it’s less refined, and Black Opium isn’t that refined in the first place. But I’m impressed. Great job, Fine’ry! 4/5″
Critical Reviews:
We couldn’t find any critical reviews for Midnight Cafe in the initial month since it’s been released! And we looked (Reddit, Fragrantica & Target all have glowing reviews!)
Similar to Not Another Cherry, the fine’ry perfume Midnight Cafe has received overwhelmingly positive reviews since it first launched. People say this is a spot-on dupe for YSL Black Opium.

Fragrance Notes: Wild Cherry, Turkish Rose, Almond Amaretto
Positive Reviews:
This reddit user is a fan, saying, “Flower Bed is great! I think I actually like it better than Chance. (fashionlover25)
Critical Reviews:
One redditor criticizes the staying power, saying, “I bought the flower bed one and I like it, but I definitely don’t love it. I just wish it lasted longer.” (WeepyPancakes)

Fine’ry’s Before the Rainbow is supposed to be a dupe for Jo Malone‘s Wood Sage & Sea Salt.
Fragrance Notes: Salty Air, Bergamot, Tree Moss
Positive Reviews:
One Redditor says, “Before the rainbow smells better than the Jo Malone to my nose. It’s a tad sweeter and has less of a hairspray-like air to it than the Wood Sage and Sea Salt.” (thebearjew666)
Critical Reviews:
One Frangrantica reviewer says the following: “Before The Rainbow is a pretty, very refreshing, shampoo-type scent. While it’s certainly nice, it does not make my heart sing (I’ll forgive poor longevity if that happens!), nor does it last on my skin more than about 30 minutes, thus I’m not adding it to my collection.”
Another reviewer says, “I don’t detect the similarities between Wood Sage & Sea Salt. Have that one at home and this one smells more vibrant, not as “relaxed” as JM. They also seem to have completely different notes. I’m just not getting it. Not really an enjoyable frag either way.”
Fine’ry’s Magnetic Candy is supposed to be a dupe for Byredo‘s Sundazed.
Fragrance Notes: Sugared Violet, Pink Pomelo, Cotton Candy
Positive Reviews:
One Redditor praises this perfume saying, “Magnetic candy is my favorite, it smells like citrus cotton candy. I can’t stop smelling where I sprayed it.” (Mundane_Bookkeeper95)
Critical Reviews:
This Reddit user (AggravatingCurve9220) critiques the staying power, saying “I love magnetic candy too, but I regret buying it bc it only lasts about 2 hours on me”
Also Featured on:
Fine’ry’s Jungle Santal is supposed to be a dupe for Le Labo Santal 33.
Fragrance Notes: Papyrus Wood, Indian Cardamom, Black Oolong Tea
Positive Reviews:
One Redditor raves about Jungle Santal, saying “The jungle one actually dried down very beautifully on me. It’s a very soft scent with a bit of spice. Definitely depends on each person but it’s one of my top 5 perfumes” (Maleficent_Bass_3055)
Critical Reviews:
One Reddit user says: “0 projection from this fragrance though and lasted 1 hour on my skin.”(peetsicedcoffee)
Also Featured on:
Fine’ry’s Sunphoria is supposed to be a dupe for Tom Ford‘s Soleil Blanc.
Fragrance Notes: Monoi Blossom, Orange Flower, Amber Wood
Positive Reviews:
One Fragrantica reviewer says: “I absolutely love this. I’m a big fan of orange blossom and tiare / monoi, so I knew I’d be a fan of this. It also has a touched of amber to it, that makes it feel a bit more luxurious and gives it some depth. It smells even better than I imagined!!”
Critical Reviews:
Reddit user says: “It made me gag. I had to scrub it off when I got home. Smelled like a cheap bathroom air freshener, only worse. (Jen4000)
Another Redditor says, “Not for me, but for someone who wants to smell like a fancy creamsicle, it’s a good value for this price point. 2.5/5 Edit: hours later it just smells like artificial neroli. Demoting to 2/5 but take it with a grain of salt because I especially don’t like that note” (u/notadogwiththumbs)
The fine’ry Sunphoria perfume is probably the perfume from the collection receiving the most critiques. Many don’t care for the scent (perfume is such a personal preference), but it does appear to be a great dupe for Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc.
The verdict is still out on what fine’ry’s I’m a Musk is supposed to be a dupe – some say Ariana Grande’s Cloud, some say Juliette Has a Gun’s Not Another Perfume.
Fragrance Notes: Fluffy Musk, Cotton Blossom, Creamy Sandalwood
Positive Reviews:
Redditor u/notadogwiththumbs says, “I am not a “not a perfume” person but I am going to keep this one, try completely dousing myself in this one day and see what happens. Also this cloudy grey bottle is a vibe. Back of the box says, “blissfully floating through a daydream,” notes are fluffy musk, cotton blossom, creamy sandlewood.” I mean, yeah, but like a WHISPER of those notes. Definitely a Molecule number whatever or Not a Perfume dupe. 4/5″
Critical Reviews:
A Frangrantica reviewer says, “This smells like a “white musk”, but it doesn’t feel like it can stand on its own. It’s so linear, but very bland – almost like smelling a sheet of white, plain paper.
When I sprayed, I felt like I could barely smell it. I normally love musks, any anything “clean” or refreshing, but this was a definite pass for me – too weak and not memorable.”
