Review: MixBar Vanilla Bourbon

What is MixBar? MixBar is an affordable perfume brand that offers a unique and personalized approach to fragrance. MixBar empowers customers to create their own custom scents by layering, or mixing perfumes from the collection – hence the use of “Mix” in the name. MixBar perfumes can also be worn alone. MixBar perfumes sell for $19.99 at our local Target.

Who Owns MixBar? MixBar is owned by Maesa LLC. More about the company that owns MixBar (from their website):

Where to Buy MixBar Perfumes? MixBar perfumes are sold exclusively at Target.

Is MixBar clean? Yes, MixBar perfumes are clean. They are free from phthalates, parabens, PFAS and other harmful ingredients. MixBar perfumes meet Target’s “Clean” standards. 

How Many MixBar Perfumes are There?

MixBar originally released 7 different perfumes, but now there are 8. At one point, there were more, but MixBar appears to have discontinued a couple perfumes, as noted below. Here is the full list of all the MixBar perfumes:

1. Coconut Palm has notes of coconut, vanilla and sea salt.
2. Cloud Musk has notes of cardamom, iris, jasmine, cotton peony and tonka beans.
3. Tangerine Squeeze has notes of clementine, grapefruit, frangipani, honeysuckle and vetiver. Tangerine Squeeze appears to have been discontinued (more on that here).
4. Blackberry Tonic has notes of blackberry, lily of the valley, jasmine, musk wood and vanilla.
5. Glass Rose has notes raspberry, bergamot, rose, peony and amber.
6. Vanilla Bourbon has notes of bergamot, jasmine, apple blossom, Madagascar vanilla bean and sandalwood.
7. Wood Elixir has notes of blackberry, rhubarb, lily of the valley, amber wood and patchouli. Wood Elixir appears to have been discontinued (more on that here).
8. Whipped Almond has notes of Sweet Milk, Almond, Iris, and Sandalwood.
9. Sparkling Hibiscus has notes of Bergamot, Hibiscus, Champagne Bubbles and Cashmere Musk.
10. Pear Blossom has notes of Juicy Pear, Peony Petals, Apple Wood and White Musk. This is MixBar’s newest perfume (released in 2023).

Is MixBar unisex? Anyone can wear MixBar perfumes. Some are more feminine leaning, while many would be considered unisex.
